George Ross Wilcox - CAPTURED

A former Calgary man who was a fugitive for three years, and was once featured on America’s Most Wanted, was caught this week in British Columbia.

George Ross Wilcox was convicted of molesting his quadriplegic stepson in Arizona and was believed to be hiding in Canada because he has family in Calgary and Vancouver.
The Delta Police Department confirm that he was arrested without incident July 30 at a shopping area in Surrey, B.C.
Wilcox was convicted in absence by a court in Pima County, Arizona on two counts of sexual interference with a minor. He was wanted on an extradition warrant.
“We don’t know where he was living, that’s something we’re still looking into,” said Delta police spokesman Const. Ciaran Feenan.
Police in Delta say they became aware in October 2009 he might have returned in Canada and had been investigating ever since with other police agencies, including police in Calgary, said Feenan.
“We are aware that he was featured on America’s Most Wanted. I can’t say for sure how that information came about,” said Feenan.
Wilcox is a Canadian citizen and will undergo the extradition process to be returned to the United States. He made his first appearance in court on July 31 in Vancouver.
According to his profile on America’s Most Wanted website, Wilcox was convicted of molesting his stepson between July 2007 and January 2008.
“Police say his stepson suffered from a brain injury and was a quadriplegic. Cops say the acts were caught on surveillance video,” said the website.
Feenan said he was not aware of Wilcox using an alias when he was in Canada.
